Forthcoming London HORR 2010

Queens men have entered two eights in this year’s HORR due to take place on Saturday 27th March. The first eight starts 16th, and the second eight 82nd in the start order. Queen’s aim to better their performances from last year, when the two crews finished 17th and 80th respectively. Both crews are entered as overseas universities and so will be in contention for the Bernard Churcher Trophy. Competition for the trophy is stiff, with Oxford Brookes (6), Reading (8), Durham (11) and Imperial (12) all starting ahead of Queen’s. All crews will be looking to cause upsets and Oxford Brookes should be riding confidently into the race, after their 45 second clear win at BUCS Head. It will be interesting to see where Queen’s place against British competition.

In the run-up to the race Queen’s first eight will face Goldie who are preparing for the The Boat Race on April 3rd. Sir Matthew Pinsent will umpire the contest, which takes place on Thursday 25th March at 13:00, on the ebb tide from Mortlake to Putney.

As always, support is welcome, so hope to see you all there for the close of the Head season.
